What an exciting new experience! It was our first time to hold an official large-scale activity as members of the new Students’ Union. Everyone in each department dedicated most of their free time to the promotion and preparation for this fascinating activity-----Summer Fellowship Party, which invited both Grade 2 and Grand 1’s students to take part in. In the morning of July12th, students who would have performance and those who wanted to meet new friends in the party couldn’t wait to see it!
Even the party didn’t last for too long, and it might be a little hurried, we had a really wonderful memory together since all of members tried their best to overcome obstacles. At about 4.P.M, we finished our classes and started to arrange media facilities in Academic Report Hall in Suzhou No.1 High School. During the party, we enjoyed colorful performances and knew some predecessors and successors through interactive games. The feeling of exchanging presents and chatting with each other was nice. Nevertheless, the most meaningful scene in the party should belong to those who stood on the stage. Let’s applaud for their effort!
The whole process couldn’t go on well without the host and the hostess, especially like Howard Qi, who not only presided over the party but also addressed a free talk show. His imitation from Guangdong-accent English made all the audience impressive and happy. Two beautiful Girls from IHS, Alice Wang and Keira Liu, brought us a segment of modern jazz dance, and they became well-known immediately among boys due to their skillful and fashionable dance! When it came to our versatile “star”---Tommy Han, students turned to be quiet; they would like to hear the pure voice from him. Tommy was so enthusiastic that he gave out a solo accompanied with guitar and made an antiphonal singing with Olivia Xu. Last but not least, another antiphonal singing group, Candy Xu and Virgil Yang, showed us a style of Beijing Opera combined with romantic music.
Around 5:20, Students’ Union awarded the participants whose performances received good comments from teachers and other students. Our friends took a lot of precious photos which contains our smiles and busy actions. You can have a look at them in our schools homepage. From this party, we gained a lot and broadened our scope by entertainment. That’s a rational way for students to relax after hard working and is helpful for them to have a better communication with each other. I hope we will have more opportunities like this to get together and have a good time.
